"Islam means simply, to surrender to God. Or more deeply, the Peace, or the Salaam, that comes when the heart surrenders to God, and trust fully in God. The message of Islam has been sent to humanity for millennia and has not changed basically, put God first and treat your neighbors as you yourself would want to be treated. Islam is not limited to a particular religion. Jesus did not come to start a new religion. Mohammed did not come to start a new religion. Peace and blessings upon all of these teachers. They came to teach humanity how to live together in peace and harmony and beauty. From our perspective, the real Islam is the real Sufism, is the real Christianity, is the real Judaism, is the real Islam. It's the real way of life, the holy way of life for the human being. And the key is to teach the heart how to rest in oneness with God. And this is the gift of the Sufi way. We say that if the Jews, the Christians, the Muslims, the Hindus or the people of any other religion knew their religion well, there would only be one religion; the religion of love, peace, mercy, freedom, beauty and justice.
